Maple Bay Painters
A community of Cowichan Valley visual artists

Maple Bay Painters is a non-profit society for Cowichan Valley visual artists. The society provides its members with a weekly workspace, discussion forums, and opportunities for art creation, exhibition and education. Members extend artist-to-artist support and mutual encouragement to one another. All levels are welcome, whether beginner or advanced.

This website is still under development. Not all members are represented here but more will be added over time. Check back periodically.

Would you like to join the Maple Bay Painters? It's easy! Just come to one of our meetings. Our membership is $100 for the year, and you can pay either when you attend a meeting in-person, or from home via an e-transfer to payments@maplebaypainters.ca, adding a note that your payment is for membership. NOTE: The membership fee is not prorated, if you're joining later in a year.

TIME and LOCATION

Members meet from September to June on Tuesday mornings, from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm. They meet in the Pearmine Room at the Cowichan Exhibition Grounds. During the summer months, the group may get together informally in local gardens or parks for plein air painting sessions.

BURSARIES

Each year, and depending on the level of fundraising undertaken by Maple Bay Painters, the group contributes monies toward one or two bursaries for local high school graduates who are planning to go on to further studies in the visual  arts. Maple Bay Painters' leadership works with high school art teachers in its bursary application and selection process.
