Gail grew up in the Cowichan Valley, where she raised her family and owned—for 27 years—the funky gift store, “The Dayley Planet”. One of her favourite customers was the now-late and greatly missed Maple Bay Painter, Trisha Cadorette. Trish kept trying to persuade Gail to join the Painters, which was a logical progression since Gail has always enjoyed creativity in all aspects of her life. Upon retiring in 2012, she took Trish’s advice and joined the Maple Bay Painters and, to Gail’s surprise, won “Best In Show” in her very first art show.

Loving to paint, Gail enjoys landscapes and florals. She dabbles in watercolours but likes to paint in acrylics and oil best. Recently, she’s started another creative adventure, this time in pottery, but she is quick to emphasize that she still paints for enjoyment and relaxation.
