Kathryn is an oil and acrylic artist. Her work is guided by playful imagination and her many travel experiences, as well as being inspired by memory, heritage and the work of so many other artists she has met.
A key influence in her development occurred in the 1970s when she took multi-media art courses alongside courses toward her teaching degree at the University of Victoria. There, a deep love of artwork of any medium was born. Kathryn was happiest creating art in the classroom and at home with her own children.
Now retired in the Cowichan Valley, Kathryn is pursuing her dream of creating paintings that have a realistic or semi-abstract style and reflect her connections to light and shapes, pulled from nature and landscapes.
Kathryn is an active Maple Bay Painter, participating in group shows and workshops and supporting her artist colleagues.
